In Hanan Houhou's Midlife, the female figure becomes a space of memory, tension, vulnerability, and transformation. Across shifting scenes, the body is observed, contained, exposed, displaced, and at times rendered almost theatrical. Gestures, fragmented poses, masks, bandages, suitcases, reflections, and patterned environments create a visual vocabulary through which private experience intersects with questions of identity and belonging.

A tension emerges between intimacy and the constructed worlds the figures inhabit, between concealment and revelation,individuality andcollectivity, movement and suspension. The works move through psychological states of waiting, departure, confinement, resilience, and return.
